**AC Slater's Night Bass plays its last show at Sound Nightclub on December 3, closing out a 13-year residency that helped define bass house in Los Angeles — but the brand isn't ending, it's just leaving the building.** Night Bass has spent over a decade turning one Hollywood room into a launchpad for an entire subgenre. Losing that address stings. It also isn't the whole story.

## Thirteen years in one room

Sound Nightclub has been Night Bass's home base since the party's early days, back when bass house barely had a name of its own. A weekly or monthly residency that long is rare in dance music, where venues churn and brands chase whatever room will have them. **That kind of consistency is exactly what let Night Bass become an incubator instead of just a party.** Countless bass house artists got their first real crowd in that building.

## A scene, not just a space

What made Sound Nightclub matter wasn't the room itself — it was what AC Slater and Night Bass built inside it: a consistent lineup, a predictable night, a place producers could count on to test new records in front of a crowd that actually cared about the genre. **You can't fake that kind of trust with a flyer; it only comes from years of showing up.**

## Why the brand survives the building

- **Night Bass Records** — the label side has been running in parallel for years, independent of any single room.
- **Touring** — Night Bass nights already happen well outside L.A., with the brand traveling to crowds instead of waiting for them.
- **The sound itself** — bass house doesn't belong to one club anymore; it belongs to a scene Night Bass helped seed nationwide.

## What actually ends in December

**What's closing is a specific chapter, not the story.** A brand that started as a residency and grew into a label and a touring act was always going to outgrow four walls eventually — this just makes it official. The final show at Sound Nightclub will be heavy for everyone who was there from the start. But bass house doesn't need a home address to keep going, and neither does Night Bass.
