Electronic Dispatch is a dark editorial publication covering underground electronic music — house, techno, ambient, bass, and the scenes that aren't yet getting their share of the press cycle. We're built for readers who came to these clubs on purpose.

What we cover

Five editorial pillars, no more:

  • News — what's happening now in releases, festivals, venues, industry, and regulation
  • Features — long-form scene reports, essays, photo journalism, artist profiles
  • Reviews — 10-point scored reviews of albums, EPs, singles, and standout tracks
  • Mixes — embed-only mixes from SoundCloud and Mixcloud, with editorial context
  • Events — a weekly calendar of underground shows worth going to

We do not cover commercial festivals as press releases. We do not republish other publications' articles. We do not rewrite RSS feeds with AI. The reporting on this site is original, the listening is human, and the opinions are the writer's.

What we don't cover

  • The major-label / commercial-festival circuit, except where it intersects with the underground
  • Crypto, NFT, or Web3 "music" projects
  • Hype cycles and viral moments without scene context
  • Anything we don't have informed access to. We'd rather say "we don't know" than fake it.

Who we are

Electronic Dispatch is founded and edited by Jazmine Gonzales, based in Los Angeles.

Every article on this site carries a real human byline. We disclose previous affiliations and any potential conflicts of interest at the bottom of every relevant piece.

Ownership and funding

Electronic Dispatch is owned and operated by Electronic Dispatch LLC, an LLC registered in California, USA. We are independent of any record label, festival promoter, agency, or distributor.

For the full breakdown of how this site is funded — and what we will and won't accept money for — see our Ethics & Funding page. The short version: we charge a small application fee for artist submissions to filter the queue and pay for editor time; we do not sell coverage; any future sponsored content will be clearly labeled and visually distinct from editorial.

Editorial standards

How we score reviews, how we handle conflicts of interest, how we correct mistakes, and what we believe about objectivity in music criticism: see our Editorial Policy.
