Step by step

1. Go to Submit music.
2. Fill in the form: artist, title, label (or self-released), format, release date, a listening link and a short paragraph of context.
3. Pay the $10 application fee on Stripe's secure checkout.
4. Look for a confirmation email from support@electronicdispatch.com with your reference number and listen-by date.

That's it. An editor listens in full within 14 days of payment.

Before you send

• Send one release or one mix. We listen to the first link only.
• Make sure the link plays for anyone who has it. See What kind of link should I send?
• Don't attach audio files.

Not music?

Send one link that an editor can open and play from start to finish.

Already released

Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, Beatport, SoundCloud, YouTube or YouTube Music, or Tidal.

Not out yet

• A SoundCloud private link
• A Bandcamp private stream
• A download link (Dropbox, Google Drive or similar) to WAV, FLAC or 320 kbps MP3

Spotify and Apple Music can't share unreleased music, so a pre-save link won't work: we can't listen to it.

A mix

A SoundCloud, Mixcloud or YouTube link, with the venue, date or concept and a tracklist if you have one.

Check before you send

• Anyone with the link can play it. No access request and no password.
• It stays up for at least 14 days, so it still works when the editor gets to it. Avoid transfer links that expire.
• A link, not an attachment.

If your link breaks after you've submitted, use Contact us below with your reference number and the new link.

Right away

You get a confirmation email from support@electronicdispatch.com with your reference number (8 letters and numbers, like 3f2a9c1d) and your listen-by date, 14 days after payment.

Within 14 days

An editor listens to your submission in full.

• If we want to feature it, an editor emails you.
• If you hear nothing by the listen-by date, it wasn't the right fit this time. We may send a short "not this time" note.
• If we miss the 14 days, your fee is refunded in full. See When do I get a refund?

Feedback

We don't give individual feedback on submissions. With the volume we receive, we'd rather spend the time listening.

Checking where it stands

Use Contact us at the bottom of this page and choose A music or mix submission, then Where does my submission stand? Enter your reference and the email you used on the form to see its status.

Look for the confirmation email

When your submission and payment go through, we send a confirmation email from support@electronicdispatch.com. That email is your receipt. It has:

• your reference number (8 letters and numbers, like 3f2a9c1d);
• the title you submitted;
• your listen-by date.

Can't find it? Check your spam, junk and promotions folders, and search for "Electronic Dispatch".

Check the status

Use Contact us at the bottom of this page, choose A music or mix submission, then Where does my submission stand? Enter your reference and the same email address you used on the form. You'll see whether it's received, in review or decided, and its dates.

No email and no reference?

If you paid but never got a confirmation, the submission may not have gone through. Use Contact us and choose the payment option; an editor will check. Don't pay a second time first.

Every music or mix submission carries a $10 application fee, paid through Stripe when you send the form on Submit music.

What the fee covers

• One submission. One release or one mix per fee. If you send more than one link, we listen to the first.
• A full listen by an editor within 14 days of payment. Your confirmation email tells you the exact listen-by date.
• A confirmation email from support@electronicdispatch.com with your reference number.

What the fee doesn't buy

• Coverage, a write-up or a premiere.
• A positive review. Reviews land anywhere on our 0–10 scale.
• Faster handling, a say in the angle, or individual feedback.

If anyone, including us, suggests the fee improves your chances, that breaks our Editorial Policy and is grounds for a refund.

If we miss the 14 days

Event listings and writer pitches are free.

When we refund

If an editor hasn't listened to your submission within 14 days of payment, we refund the $10 fee in full. You don't need to ask; we email you when the refund is sent.

How long it takes

Refunds usually reach your card in 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. On your statement the refund shows as ELECTRONICDISPATCH.COM.

When we don't refund

The fee pays for a listen, not an outcome. We don't refund because:

• we listened and decided not to cover the music;
• you sent the wrong link, or a link that stopped working before we listened;
• you'd like to swap the track for a different one.

Something else about a charge?

Charged twice, a charge you don't recognise, or a refund that hasn't arrived after 10 business days? Use Contact us at the bottom of this page and choose the payment option. An editor looks at it and replies by email. Don't send card numbers; your reference number is enough.

Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment processor. On your card or bank statement, the $10 fee shows as:

A refund shows under the same name. We never see or store your full card number.

A charge you don't recognise

Check your email for a confirmation from support@electronicdispatch.com sent around the date of the charge. It has your reference number and the title you submitted.

If you can't find one, use Contact us at the bottom of this page and choose the payment option. Tell us the date and amount of the charge. Never send your card number.

No. Coverage on Electronic Dispatch is never paid for.

• The $10 music fee pays for a listen, nothing more. See How does the $10 music fee work?
• We don't sell reviews, scores, premieres, interviews or event placements.
• We don't list events in exchange for guest list spots.
• Advertising and sponsorships, when we run them, are labelled and kept apart from editorial decisions.

If someone claims to sell placement on Electronic Dispatch, they don't speak for us. Please tell us using Contact us at the bottom of this page.

Event listings on Electronic Dispatch are free.

How to send one

Use the form on Submit an event. Have these ready:

• the lineup, headliner and support;
• venue, address and city;
• date and door time;
• the official ticket link;
• the age restriction (18+, 21+ or all ages);
• a flyer.

Send it at least 7 days before doors.

What we list

Underground electronic music: warehouse and club nights, independent promoters, touring artists in rooms that fit their work. We cover Los Angeles first, with select coverage of other cities.

What a listing isn't

A listing is not coverage. If you'd like a review or scene report from the night, pitch it separately: How do I pitch a story?

Review time

An editor reviews every listing within 5 business days. The listing is either published, published with a short note, or not listed because it doesn't fit what we cover.

We don't run paid event placements, and we don't list shows in exchange for guest list.

Changing or cancelling a listing

Set times, lineup changes, a new ticket link or a cancelled show: use Contact us at the bottom of this page and choose An event listing. Include the event name and date so an editor can find it quickly.

Still not listed?

If 5 business days have passed and the show is more than a few days out, use Contact us. An editor will check.

There's no fee to pitch. We pay contributors, on publication.

How to pitch

Use the form on Pitch. Include:

• a working headline;
• the story in 2–4 paragraphs: what it is, who you've talked to or plan to, why now;
• 2–3 links to your published clips (or your strongest writing if you haven't been published yet);
• your timeline and rough word count;
• any conflicts of interest or embargoes.

What we're looking for

Scene reports from cities we don't have eyes on, profiles of underground artists outside the press cycle, features on labels, venues and residencies, and photo essays from the floor.

Artists promoting their own release

That's a music submission, not a pitch: How do I submit music or a mix?

We don't accept AI-generated or AI-rewritten copy.

We read every pitch and try to reply within 2 weeks.

If you haven't heard back after 3 weeks, please follow up using Contact us at the bottom of this page and choose Pitching a story. Pitches occasionally slip through the cracks; we're not ignoring you.

If we accept

• The rate for your piece is confirmed in writing in the acceptance email, before you start work.
• You keep the copyright. We get a non-exclusive licence to publish it on Electronic Dispatch and in our newsletter.
• Edits are collaborative: you see substantive changes before publication.
• We pay on publication.

If we pass

You're free to pitch it elsewhere.

We correct mistakes on the record.

How to report one

Use Contact us at the bottom of this page and choose An error in a story. Tell us:

• the link to the story;
• what's wrong (the quote, claim or fact);
• what's correct, with a source if you have one.

We respond to every correction request within 5 business days.

If you're a source who was misquoted and would rather we fix it quietly, say so and we'll honour that.

What happens next

Typos are fixed silently. Factual changes get a dated note on the story. Serious errors get a note at the top of the story and an entry in our corrections log. The full process is on Corrections.

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.

How

Email hello@electronicdispatch.com from the address we hold, or use Contact us at the bottom of this page and choose My data or newsletter. We respond within 30 days.

What we keep, and for how long

• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
• Submissions, pitches and tips: as long as we need them to review and reply, up to 24 months.
• Help center tickets: deleted 12 months after they're closed.

We never sell or rent your information, and nobody can buy access to our subscriber list. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Unsubscribe

Every email from Electronic Dispatch has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list.

Change your email or preferences

Open your account to change the email address we send to or the newsletters you get. We'll email you a sign-in link; there's no password.
